COOKHAM RISE METHODIST CHURCH Lower Road, Cookham Rise, SL6 9HJ Minister: Rev Andrew Baker 01753 520742
Our aim is to proclaim the love of God in Christ Jesus through our worship
Cookham Rise Methodist Church is in Lower Road close to Cookham Rise railway station. You can contact us at our Church's e-mail address crmethodist@gmail.com Our regular Sunday Services are at:
We have a Sunday Club for children aged 3 upwards that meets during the morning service; a crèche is also available. A prayer group meets weekly on Monday afternoons from 4.30 pm. The Ladies' Circle meets once a fortnight on a Thursday. Each year the Church adopts and raises funds for a different mission 'project' somewhere overseas. This is led by the Ladies Circle. A Fellowship Group meets periodically for short courses of 5 - 6 weeks. Please contact Mrs Connie Jeffery on 01628 - 662500 for details. The Church's Wesley Hall and kitchen are available for hire by other organisations. For bookings, contact our Lettings Secretary, Mrs Kathy Rickman on 01628 - 522797. Toddlers sessions, which are open to all Carers with Toddlers, are held on a Pay as you Come basis on Tuesday mornings during school term times. As a church and as individuals, our members are heavily and actively involved in the community:
Our monthly coffee mornings attract people from the village and our monthly Sunday lunches are attended by those on the fringes of the church. Our occasional children's workshops are very popular and always over-subscribed! A new venture for the church is 'Messy Church', concentrating largely on families with pre-school age children. Sessions are held three times a year. There are strong ecumenical links in Cookham with involvement with, for example, the Social Action Committee. We extend to you a warm invitation to join in any of the activities at the Church. The church premises are easily accessible to wheelchair users (via the entrance nearest the station). We have an Induction Loop system in both the church and the Wesley Hall for those with hearing aids. There is an accessible toilet.
