Welcome to Woodlands Park Methodist Church
Our church has been serving the community for over 75 years, celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2009. We are committed to worship, outreach, and engaging with people of all ages.
Sunday Worship
- 10:30 am – Morning Worship (Every Sunday)
Children & Youth Activities
We offer a range of regular activities for children, providing a safe and nurturing environment for learning and play:
- Rainbows & Brownie Guides – Meet every Thursday evening.
- Wise Owls Pre-school Group – A thriving pre-school that operates Monday to Friday during term time, from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, followed by a Lunch Club.
Open the Book
An ecumenical team, including six of our church members, actively participates in the Open the Book project. This outreach takes place weekly during an assembly at Woodlands Park Primary School, bringing Bible stories to life through:
- Scripted storytelling
- Basic character acting
- Engaging discussions with children
For more information about Open the Book, visit their official website.
Facilities & Enhancements
For the benefit of children and the Pre-school Group, we have added extra facilities:
- A dedicated outdoor play area in the church house garden.
- A storage shed for equipment and play items.
Community Engagement
- Our church has supported AIDS orphans in Kenya through a long-term fundraising project.
- In partnership with St. Mary's Anglican Church, White Waltham, we have organized Community Fun Days for residents of the Woodlands Park estate since 2012.
- These events include free activities, such as:
- Climbing wall
- Face painting
- Tea and cakes
- Despite the challenges of the weather, these events have been a great success, and more are planned for the future.
Looking Ahead
Although our congregation is aging, we remain open-minded and committed to exploring new ideas for mission and outreach as we continue to spread God's love in our community.
We look forward to welcoming you to Woodlands Park Methodist Church!
